Kip London

Picture
Kip London has been performing folk, rhythm, and jump blues since the
age of 17. He has gone from performing solo, to sideman, to heading
up a 6-piece Jump blues band. During his time in Boston he also did a 5
year stint as the lead vocalist for a 15-piece swing orchestra. Six years
ago, Kip returned to performing solo exclusively. Early influences such
as Bob Dylan and Tom Waits instilled the song writing bug early on.
While performing material written by other artists, Kip has always
included original material as the primary focus of his performances.

Accompanying himself on acoustic and National Resonator guitars, his
singing is raw and powerful. His songs are authentic, gritty and thought
provoking.

The Boston Globe has called Kip’s music “straight ahead cool”.

Kip’s first CD release was listed in the top ten of new releases from
Blues Review Magazine. That month’s favorites included Kim Wilson,
Susan Tedeschi, BB King and Bob Dylan.

Pittsburgh Rock & Roll Legend Norm Nardini says about Kip: “Old
school song writing sensibilities, cool voice and some fine guitar
picking”. “The real deal.”

Kip has shared the stage with a number of national performers over the
years. While getting back into live performances this summer, you may
have seen Kip open for Tommy Castro or being one of the showcase
performers at the Pittsburgh Blues and Roots Festival.

A Pittsburgh native, Kip lived in Boston for several years before returning to
the “Burgh” in January of 2017. Look for Kip at any number of the local
performing venues.
