The Compadres’ rich vocal harmonies complement their unique, diverse blend of instruments. Acoustic guitar accompanies dynamic 4 and 5 part harmonies, hearkening to the band’s influence by groups such as Crosby, Stills, and Nash. A necessary component of The Compadres’ acoustic sound comes from a baritone ukulele, strumming rhythm or plucking solos as needed. The creative soul of an electric guitar flares during what can only be described as Grateful Dead-fueled jam band grooves; melodic blues riffs and long jam verses come to life through the electric’s pedals. Funky bass drives the sound of the music, the harmonic anchor in a wild storm of sound. Finally, a percussion set, replete with bongos, congos, cajon, and beatboxing, pounds out the beat to get the crowd moving, grooving, and begging for more.
